An experimental study on the core of the conventional plate-fin air total heat exchanger is carried out through an enthalpy difference chamber, and the effects of different indoor and outdoor temperature difference, moisture difference and core face-to-face wind speed on the core heat exchange efficiency are analysed. The empirical calculation formulas of sensible heat exchange efficiency and latent heat exchange efficiency are fitted. The hourly total heat recovery under the dynamic efficiency of Shanghai’s typical meteorological year is calculated by using the obtained empirical formulas, and the average enthalpy efficiency of the total heat exchange core is 44.6% in summer, and 71.0% in winter. It can be found that the total heat recovery of the exhaust air in winter is very important for energy saving.
